Lina Lopez-Corona, research technician with James Schnable’s group runs Phenobot through corn rows in a field northeast of 84th and Havelock. Phenobot is a robot that measures leaf angle on corn to see how well the plant is performing photosynthesis. What used to be done by hand using protractors is now quickly done by the robot with a remote-controlled robot fitted with cameras and lights. August 10, 2023.
