Angela Tauber whisks chopped carrots and jalapenos into a mixture of vinegar and sugar to make quick-pickled carrots. Tauber is the kitchen bookkeeper for North Bend Central and attended the summer 2025 Child Nutrition Training Academy held by the Nebraska Department of Education and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln on East Campus in Leverton Hall. The academy is held annually to provide school nutrition professionals with education on topics ranging from financial and personnel management to menu development.
