201201 COVID 002
To protect COVID-19 testers from the elements this winter, two custom "pods" were built in the Memorial Stadium loop. Each pod is designed with a wall down the middle, allowing for them to be split in half with their own heating and air conditioning systems and deployed to other campus locations as needed. Dr. Scott Koepsell of UNMC prepares to test for COVID at a testing site in the 19th and Vine parking garage as part of a UNMC research project investigating the prevalence of COVID-19 in faculty, staff and students of the University of Nebraska system.

This study involves asking questions about travel history and contact with anyone infected with COVID-19 as well as performing a swab from the back of the nose.

This study is intended to help the researchers understand relationships between travel and prevalence of the virus and determine to what extent COVID-19 has infected the personnel with our university community. April 27, 2020. Photo by Craig Chandler / University Communication.
