Plant Sale

The line of cars for the flower give-away snaked through the parking lot east of the Dental College, to pick up the flowers awaiting them at the bottom center of the photo. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Horticulture Club hosted its first-ever plant giveaway Thursday, a replacement for the club's annual plant sale and fundraiser was due to the university shutdown in response to the global pandemic in mid-March. A prepackaged assortment of plants in a cardboard flat will be ready for each recipient. There were two sessions of giveaways with 100 flats of plants at each one. It only took 22 minutes to give away the morning allocation of flats. May 21, 2020. Photo by Craig Chandler / University Communication.
