Husker memorabilia decorates the interior of The Scarlet Hotel. The Scarlet Hotel on Nebraska Innovation Campus has opened. The Marriott Tribute hotel features 154 rooms, a coffee shop, signature restaurant and rooftop bar. All are open to the public. A grand opening celebration is planned for May 6. The honorary game ball is carried from Iowa City to Lincoln. Sixth annual The Things They Carry Ruck March, which began at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa, Nov. 17, and finishes at Memorial Stadium on Friday, Nov. 25. The march, which is organized by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Student Veterans and University of Iowa Veterans Association organizations, is centered on raising awareness of the epidemic of veteran suicide. Helmet stickers honor George Flippin. George Flippin attended the University of Nebraska from 1891 to 1894. He was the first African-American football player for the University. Missouri refused to play a scheduled football game, forfeiting 1-0 because of Flippin’s presence on the team. He was inducted into the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame in 1974. Team Huddle.
