Dr. Shane Farritor poses on a caboose custom painted and donated to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The Husker red caboose was used to house the measuring equipment and generators used on the first-generation test car. The current test car is a self-contained hopper car. Track modulus is one of several indicators for the quality and performance of railroad track. It is the ratio of vertical rail deflection and the contact pressure between the rail base and track foundation.Photo by Craig Chandler / University Communications

The Columns, located between Memorial Stadium and the Coliseum, were relocated from Omaha in 1930. Originally part of the Burlington Station designed by Thomas Kimball, the train station was remodeled in 1929 and the columns were surplused.
