Close up of tassels on the tops of corn plants in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Department of Agronomy and Horticulture research fields at 84th and Havelock. Students use a punch to collect samples from several corn plants in each plot. The leaf punches will be tested for high throughput RNA and will be tested across it's 30,000 genes and almost 300 metabolites. The student workers are testing the plants as part of James Schnable's research group. July 8, 2020. Photo by Craig Chandler / University Communication.
