Joel Nielsen, Exhibit Specialist with the University of Nebraska State Museum, works to remove a duck embedded as part of a first-floor exhibit in Morrill Hall. The ducks need to be removed to give the workers access to replace the exhibit glass. Workers are rushing to finish renovations to improve accessibility and better protect its exhibits and research specimens so the University of Nebraska State Museum and Mueller Planetarium can reopen to the public on March 15, 2024.
