Mark Mesarch and Bill Sorensen walk through plots in the East Campus Community Gardens. Both work in the School of Natural Resources, Mesarch is a senior web and database programmer, and Sorensen is a software development specialist. Sorensen was one of the first gardeners in 1993, when the gardens were exclusive to staff and faculty in the agronomy department. Over time, the garden has grown to hold 70 plots rented by staff, faculty, students and emeriti, with a waiting list 30 names deep. July 1, 2025.
