Arthur Fischer, Eric Peterson and Sam Wildman completed a senior design capstone project by converting a 1964 Chevy Corvair from an internal-combustion engine to full electric power. The "Retro-Vair" is designed for a city commuter and will travel for at least 30 miles on a full charge. Top cruising speed is about 70 miles per hour. The students developed the project in the last three years, completing the build in the previous 18 months. May 15, 2017. Photo by Troy Fedderson/ University Communication.
