Nitish Bastola, PhD Civil Engineering student at UNL, documents the production of asphalt made with recycled plastic bags. Foundry Road in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Foundry Road was being paved with asphalt that contained millions of plastic bags in an effort to reduce landfill waste. The road is the first in Nebraska to be paved with asphalt containing plastic.
