Graduate student Elizabeth Hoffman wears a headband with the Doppler transducers to record her reactions to the stimuli. Nebraska researchers Steven Barlow and Greg Bashford have developed a system to treat stroke victims using a functional transcranial Doppler ultrasound and somatosensory stimulation. The stimulation has been shown in animal models to provide neuroprotection. The technology could prevent brain death. August 23, 2018. Photo by Craig Chandler / University Communication.
